Calligraphy workshop

Time: 12.30pm - 3.30pm

Location: Room 1.13, Confucius Institute, Vijay Patel Building

  • Discover the beauty of traditional Chinese calligraphy in this hands-on workshop
  • Participants will learn basic brush techniques and explore the artistic and cultural meanings behind Chinese characters
  • No prior experience is required — just bring your curiosity and creativity!

This activity is open to all ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ students and staff. The Confucius Institute also offers a free 10-week Mandarin course and supports a two-week summer trip to China for selected students.


CPR Training

Time: 1pm - 1.45pm

Location: Campus Centre

Each year in the U.K., over 40,000 people (of all ages) suffer a witnessed, out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. For casualties to have any prospect of survival, it is imperative that bystanders take immediate action. CPR must be commenced without delay, whilst a public access defibrillator should be brought to and used on the patient as quickly as possible. Simply waiting for paramedics to arrive isn’t an option.

This 45 minute session will teach you how to identify a cardiac arrest, deliver effective CPR and use a defibrillator. It might just help you save someone’s life.

Tai Chi Qigong for health and wellbeing: Tai Chi (Supreme Ultimate) Qigong (Energy Work)

The gentle flow of moves helps relax body and mind while the stances help improve balance, leg and core strength.

Qigong improves the balance of Qi ( energy ) in the body which will lead to an overall lift in your general health and well-being by reducing stress and tension physically, mentally and emotionally.
